Critical Incident Stress Debriefing or Disaster Response are interventions that normally conducted on-site at a workplace after an incident occurs that has directly impacted employees. Some examples: robbery, loss of a co-worker, injury or accident in the workplace, or terroristic threats or acts.
A Critical Incident Stress Debriefing is a proven intervention to decrease the impact that the traumatic incident would have on the employees. The on-site counselors are available to conduct individual and group counseling sessions. A quiet meeting area will be necessary for the counselor to conduct the sessions. It is important that the employees be given time where they can freely meet with the counselor and participate in the services. As an additional benefit to your employee, Ocean Vista Counseling can set up an agreement for employees to be seen for additional individual counseling sessions at our office.
Our therapists have extensive experience working with first responders – police, fire, EMS, and the military.
