The Anger Management Program at Ocean Vista Counseling is a 12-week violence prevention program (individual or group session are available). Some clients refer themselves to our classes as a direct result of their own upsetting behavior and others are referred by the court. In most cases, there is a precipitating event such as a relationship breakup or disruption with a co-worker in which anger management participation is a condition for reconciliation. Other categories of referrals to our programs are people who are sent through their attorneys, the court system, their counselor, their employer, or at the request of family members.
If you experience uncontrolled anger or emotions, it can affect your relationships, your job, and your health. If you do not learn how to control your anger, it can begin to show in other ways. You may notice intense rage, anxiety, social difficulties, depression, violence, feeling out of control, and decreased self-worth. If you are suffering from anger issues, it is vital that you get the support you need so that you can develop effective coping strategies.
