I view counseling as a collaborative process. In sessions, we will focus on exploring your feelings and life challenges. During therapy you can increase your level of self-understanding, learn more effective ways to cope with feelings, and develop improved coping skills to help manage your emotions. You will learn how to restructure negative thoughts into positive thoughts, develop creative techniques to reduce stress, and increase self-care strategies to achieve your goals. Our hope is that anyone that comes through our doors will find clarity, hope and purpose. We stand ready to walk this journey of self-discovery with you.

Kathleen is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, Qualified and Court Appointed Parenting Coordinator, and Collaborative Divorce Professional.
The focus of my practice is on alternative dispute resolution, conflict resolution, and collaborative practice to help support children and families during periods of transition. My practice focuses on Co-Parent Counseling, Family Mediation, Parenting Coordination, and the Collaborative Divorce Process. My goal is to help the family decrease conflict in their parenting relationship to protect the emotional health of their children.
As a professional, my focus has been working with families that are in high conflict co-parenting relationships. This includes situations where abuse or domestic violence has occurred in the family system. It is imperative to the emotional health of the children that their feelings and voices are heard. It is also important for the children to be allowed to love both parents freely without pressure from the other parent.
“Co-Parenting is not a competition. It’s a collaboration of two homes working together with the best interest of the child at heart. Work for your kids not against them.” – Dr. Anne Brown
Prior to opening my practice in Florida in 2018, I previously owned a behavioral health group counseling practice in Pennsylvania which I opened in 2001. I have worked with local courts to assist families that are struggling to co-parent together. I have been focusing my training and experience in supporting families as they agree to work together to make decisions that are in the best interest of their children. My specialty is helping children and families navigate through the process of separation and divorce. I work to help parents see that placing children in the middle of conflict is extremely detrimental to the children. I encourage parents to prioritize all the choices and decisions that they make in their family. When parents are going through divorce process, negative emotions may surface between parents. As a parent, it may be important to seek your own emotional support so that you can manage your feelings in a healthy way.
“The sign of great parenting is not the child’s behavior. The sign of truly great parenting is the parent’s behavior.” – Andy Smithson
